EDISON - A new FDU PublicMind poll finds people who get their news from Fox News may know less about what's going on in the world than those who watch no news at all.

Pollsters asked people what they knew about stories such as the revolution in Egypt or the Occupy Wall Street protests in Manhattan.

Viewers of Fox News got the lowest scores. The poll found they were 18-points less likely to know that Egyptians overthrew their government.

MSNBC viewers also did poorly. Those viewers were much more likely to misidentify Occupy Wall Street protesters as Republicans.

Those that did the best were people who watched the Sunday morning talk shows, read a newspaper or watched "The Daily Show" on Comedy Central.

Pollster Peter Woolley says he believes too often, the national cable networks have become nothing but screaming matches.

Woolley made his comments during a taping of News 12 New Jersey Power and Politics that will air this weekend.
