BRIDGEWATER - Police and education officials have launched investigations after videos of fights in a central New Jersey high school were posted on a Facebook page.

Videos of five fights inside Bridgewater-Raritan High School appeared on the "BRHS Fights" page. They included footage of two girls grappling and pulling each other's hair, and two boys fighting in the lunchroom.

The videos were taken down from the Facebook page earlier today.

Schools Superintendent Michael Schilder wrote a letter to parents yesterday saying there have been seven fights from March 1 through March 15. There had only been five fights since September prior to March 1.

“The administration responded quickly to these fights and knew the student identities well before the videos were posted; disciplinary action was taken in each case,” Schilder said in the letter.

School officials and police are trying to find out who was administrating the Facebook page.
