NEW BRUNSWICK - Authorities have launched an investigation after a video was posted online that apparently shows a police officer punching a Rutgers University student during an arrest.

Elliot Marx, 20, was reportedly arrested Saturday after a large street fight near the Rutgers campus in New Brunswick.

The video, posted on YouTube under the title "Rutgers Student Brutally Beaten by NBPD," apparently shows a New Brunswick police officer punching the student. Another officer is heard shouting: "Stop resisting! Give me your hand."

Marx is accused of jumping on an officer's back who was trying to arrest his friend.

Marx was charged with resisting arrest, aggravated assault on a police officer, obstructing police and carrying a false identification.
