EDISON - After being the butt of dozens of his jokes, Gov. Chris Christie went head to head tonight with late-night funnyman David Letterman.

The interview marks the governor's debut appearance on CBS' the "Late Show."

Christie, who has been open about his struggle with weight loss, recanted some of his favorite jokes Letterman has made at his expense. Among them, a jab on Christie's 50th birthday, in which Letterman joked that after blowing out the candles on the cake, Christie wished for - another cake.

Following the afternoon taping, Christie appeared at a fundraiser event for his re-election campaign. The governor has now amassed about $3 million in campaign funds thanks to today's event.
