According to a letter sent to parents, the school was placed on lockdown Thursday morning after school officials received a report of a comment made by a students who said that another student may have had a gun inside the school.

Officials contacted the Hillsborough Township Police Department and locked down the school as a precaution. Police responded and were able to determine that some students were discussing video games and that no one had actually seen a gun inside the school.

According to Principal Karen Bingert's letter, school counselors would be available to help students deal with their emotions following the lockdown.
