Victims in fatal Newark fire identified

NEWARK - A late night fire in New Jersey's largest city last night has left three people dead.

The Essex County Prosecutor's Office says the victims have been identified as Tammy Reid, 51, Marvin Anderson, 48, and Charlene Ford, 42. Dozens of firefighters responded to the fire that broke out in a three-story brick building on South 8th Street in Newark.

Fire Chief Michael Lalor says the victims were trapped inside the building and were pulled out, but died later at University Hospital.

Authorities are still working to determine the cause of the fire.
