Vernon Township tops New Jersey snow totals with 20 inches

Vernon Township received the most snow during Thursday's storm (2/14/14)

VERNON TWP - One Sussex County town holds the distinction of getting the most snow during Thursday’s storm.

Vernon Township was buried under 20 inches of snow.

Residents spent much of Friday digging out.

In some cases, the snow banks were as high as the first floor of some homes.

Another round of snow is expected to hit the state late Saturday morning. The next bout is expected to bring 2-4 inches of snow to the area.
