EDISON - An Edison Lexus dealership says vandals scrawled messages of hate and stole the wheels off eight of its cars.

The vehicles had swastikas and other hateful messages carved into their paint.

The dealership is estimating the damage at $26,000.

Police are investigating the vandalism as a hate crime and are using the dealership?s security cameras to identify the culprits.

Rabbi Bernhard Rosenberg said that he has noticed an up-tick in hate messages in Edison. He said his synagogue was vandalized with swastikas last year.

The dealership is offering $5,000 as reward to anyone who helps identify the perpetrators.
