NEWARK - Officials at University Hospital in Newark are hoping the public can help identify a patient who has been at the hospital several weeks.

According to the hospital, the male patient was struck by a vehicle late at night on Nov. 15 near Don Pepe restaurant on McCarter Highway in Newark. He may have been at the White Castle in East Orange earlier that day.

He is about 5 feet 3 inches tall and weighs about 150 pounds. He may be either Hispanic or Portuguese. He has no identifying marks or scars, according to the hospital.

Anyone who might recognize the patient or know his family is urged to call the hospital at 973-972-4050.
