UNION TOWNSHIP - Police in Union Township have released new surveillance video of a driver they believe may have caused a fatal motorcycle crash last Sunday.
The surveillance footage shows the driver fueling up his light-colored sedan before turning left onto North Avenue.
Police say the driver cut into the path of on-coming motorcyclist Carlos Ospina, causing him to swerve and crash. They say the driver got out, walked to where Ospina was laying on the ground and then ran off.
"A lot of cars don't respect motorcycles," says Carlos Diaz, a friend of the victim. "I ride a cruiser and it's the way people react toward a bike. If your bike is not loud, they usually don't hear you coming and if they do hear you coming, they just don't care."
Police also conducted an informational checkpoint yesterday on North Avenue in an effort to find a witness.
