ORANGE - With an upcoming election this May, the political plot continues to thicken in Orange.

One city worker has been arrested and charged with threatening the mayor's life. Now, another public works employee and local union vice president, Raymond Wingfield Jr., has earned the wrath of Mayor Eldridge Hawkins Jr.

Wingfield is facing administrative charges that he interfered in the investigation into the secretly recorded threat against the mayor by the town employee.

The mayor says that Wingfield brought his troubles on himself. Hawkins says that it was complaints from Wingfield's fellow public works employees that led to departmental charges against him.

Wingfield faces an administrative hearing on the charges later this month. Meanwhile, he continues to work for the Department of Public Works.Orange DPW worker accused of making death threat against mayor
