WINFIELD TOWNSHIP - A 51-year-old Union County man is facing multiple charges after he allegedly got into a standoff with police that lasted over three hours.

According to the Union County Prosecutor’s Office, Winfield Township police were called to a home on Seafoam Avenue for a domestic dispute Tuesday afternoon. Authorities say that when they arrived Anthony Duca allegedly grabbed a kitchen knife and threatened to kill police officers.

Police say that the officers ordered Duca to drop the knife and then retreated from the home when he advanced toward them. The Union County SWAT team was called in and officers began negotiating with Duca.

Authorities say that they learned that prior to them being called, Duca allegedly tried to force his way inside a nearby home. Police say that he threatened a woman inside, forcing her to leave her house with her young daughter.

A little more than three hours after they were called, police were able to convince Duca to surrender and he was taken into custody. No one was injured.

Duca was charged with aggravated assault, making terroristic threats and burglary, among other charges. His bail was set at $265,000.
