WEST ORANGE - While Mother Nature may have played a Halloween trick a few days early across most of New Jersey, many residents said they don't really think it's funny.

Pat Uto, 96, said he's never seen a snowstorm this early in the year, and he's no longer at an age where he can appreciate the snow.

Even 10-year-old Corey Matthews wasn't too happy. He was concerned that the snow will put white spots on his all-black ninja costume.

Shelia Parisi said she's in denial over the early snow. "You can't even see my pumpkins, which are covered in snow," she said.

However, Matthews offered a bit of sage advice about the weather. "When winter starts early, spring starts early."
