PATERSON - Authorities are investigating two separate shootings that happened within hours of each other in Paterson, leaving one teenager dead.
A 14-year-old, whose last name has not been released, was shot in the head at around 10:30 p.m. Thursday night in front of a Bodega on Rosa Parks Boulevard, according to the Passaic County Prosecutor's Office. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities say two other men, ages 18 and 20, were taken to St. Joseph's Hospital with gunshot wounds to the back. Both victims are listed in stable condition.
A witness tells News 12 New Jersey the victims were gambling on the street when someone in a van drove up and opened fire.
The names of the 18 and 20 year olds have not been released. No arrests have been made in the case.
Meanwhile, officials are investigating another shooting that occurred a few blocks away in Paterson Park around 4:45 this morning. No information has been released on how many victims were involved.
Nyjavar Jackson, 18, was also killed earlier this week by gunfire in Paterson.
