EDISON - A New Jersey Turnpike toll collector is in hot water after he was recently caught sleeping on the job. A driver snapped a photo of the collector apparently napping with his cash register wide open, then sent it to the Turnpike Authority and a local radio station. A Turnpike Authority spokesperson tells News 12 New Jersey that sleeping on the job is not tolerated and that employees, if caught, will be fired as a result. Some drivers say they are angered by the photo, while others say the employee should not be harshly reprimanded since he was working at an underused booth at the end of the toll plaza. The location of the toll plaza has yet to be identified.
