EAST BRUNSWICK - The northbound New Jersey Turnpike is experiencing delays near Interchange 9 in East Brunswick after a crash and vehicle fire. The fire has been extinguished, but crews are still attempting to clean the scene.

State trooper Christopher Kay spoke with News 12 New Jersey on the phone. Kay says the accident is being investigated, but has confirmed there was one fatality. The two vehicles involved in the crash were a dump truck and what is believed to be a tractor-trailer carrying groceries.

No other vehicles were involved in the crash and it is advised that drivers take alternate routes, as the investigation could take hours.
