Turkeys take a toll on residents in Belleville

BELLEVILLE - Many areas of the state are grappling with growing deer and bear populations, but for those in Belleville, turkeys have been causing major problems.

As shown on YouTube, the turkeys have been spotted in Belleville during all seasons. Firefighter George Delgrande says he is familiar with the turkeys after someone waved him down saying the birds were chasing the fire engine.

Early morning is apparently prime time for the turkeys to come out in Belleville. If the turkeys do become a real problem they can be relocated by New Jersey Fish and wildlife.
