ROXBURY TOWNSHIP - A cargo container being hauled by a large truck came free and toppled off of Interstate 80 Friday morning following a crash in Roxbury Township.

Police say the truck collided with a Ford Edge near Exit 30. In video taken by Chopper 12 at the scene, the truck's red cargo container is seen laying on its side on top of iron girders on the elevated roadway. New Jersey Transit tracks are below.

The truck driver and two people in the Ford vehicle have been hospitalized with injuries that are not considered life-threatening.

Eastbound lanes on Interstate 80 were closed as cleanup efforts continue. Major delays were reported in both directions on the highway.

Service on the Morris & Essex rail line has been restored between Dover and Hackettstown. It was suspended for a time after the crash.

NJ Transit workers were seen picking up debris below the roadway, along the railroad tracks.

The cause of the crash is unclear at this time.
