Truck fire shuts down 2 lanes on Route 17 northbound in Paramus

PARAMUS - An early morning truck fire stalled traffic along Route 17 northbound in Paramus.

Police say the tractor-trailer was found fully engulfed in flames between Kalisa Way and A&S Drive at around 6:45 a.m. The 38-year-old driver of the truck was able to escape unharmed.

Officials say the fire appears to have been started in the brakes of the tractor.

Authorities shut down all but one lane on the northbound side of Route 17 for the investigation.
