OLD BRIDGE - The Middlesex County Prosecutor has charged a driver accused of being on drugs and causing a fatal crash on Route 9.

Stephen Seidl was arrested at his Robbinsville home this morning by Old Bridge police after an investigation determined the tractor-trailer driver was under the influence of drugs at the time of the March 31 crash.

Authorities say the investigation shows the victim, Heidi Bennett, was stopped at a red light on Route 9 when her car was struck from behind by Seidl’s tractor-trailer. Bennett was pronounced dead at the scene.

Seidl has been charged with aggravated manslaughter and death by automobile. His bail has been set at $300,000.
