Truck catches fire on Route 287 in Edison

No one was hurt and the crash was cleared just after 8 a.m. (August 22, 2014 12:56 PM)

A truck engine fire stalled the morning commute along Route 287.

State police say the incident happened at around 6:45 a.m. Friday in the northbound lanes near exit 1 in Edison.

The fire caused approximately 150 gallons of diesel fuel to spill out onto the roadway, according to state police. Middlesex Haz-mat crews responded and contained the spill.
