JERSEY CITY - Three Pennsylvania residents accused of trying to drive through the Holland Tunnel with a cache of weapons were arraigned on multiple charges in Hudson County.

John Cramsey, 50, and Dean Smith, 53, both of Zionsville, and 29-year-old Kimberly Arendt, of Lehighton, pleaded not guilty Monday to the weapons charges contained in the 63-count indictment.

In June, they were stopped at the entrance of the tunnel in a truck that had gun-rights decals on it. Police say the vehicle had a cracked windshield.

Their lawyers say the search that uncovered the weapons was illegal, because the truck was profiled by police due to its appearance. They plan to file motions to suppress the evidence.

Police say at least seven guns, high-capacity magazines and 10 knives were found. Cramsey owned a gun range.

Cramsey posted online shortly before the arrest that he was heading to New York to "rescue" a 16-year-old girl whose friend had overdosed.

All three defendants are free on bail. Their next court appearance is expected to be in January.

The Associated Press wire services contributed to this report.
