OCTOBER 21 - Morris Township - Halloween Treat for Teens. Taught by a professional baker, teens in grades seven and up enjoy baking Halloween treats that may look gross, but are awfully delicious! OCTOBER 27Chester Township - A Miller's Halloween. Join the fun coloring pumpkins, creating corn husk dolls and playing old-time games at Cooper Gritsmill in Chester Township. Chatham Township - Trail Tails at the Great Swamp. Enjoy a memorable night of silly, slightly spooky, nature-themed and Native American storytelling, designed to by enjoyed by everyone! Walking along the dark, wooded trails, you never know who may be lurking around the next bend in the path waiting to tell their story- it could be an eagle, a pirate, or giant Luna Moth! Come out for the annual one-hour trail tails event to celebrate Halloween in a unique way at the Great Swamp Outdoor Education Center in Chatham Township. Union Township - Liberty Hall Museum at Kean University will host its annual Pumpkin Patch Day celebration on Saturday, October 27, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on the historic grounds of Liberty Hall. The day features its traditional menu of activities, including pumpkin picking, carving and decorating, Halloween crafts, hayrides, house tours and much more. A new activity this year is a corn maze! Admission is $10 for children, $6 for adults and seniors and free for Liberty Hall Museum members and children under three. Additional charges for pumpkins, food and beverages apply. Hackettstown - Centenary College will be running a Halloween Party at 10 a.m. Saturday, October 27, 2012, in the Student Activity Center of the Edward W. Seay Administration Building. Members of the community are encouraged to bring their children to this family-friendly event. Many clubs on campus have exciting activities and games planned, including face painting, pumpkin painting, bag decorating and a photo station. Food will also be available, including candy corn, candy apples, lollipops and more. At the conclusion of this event, children and families can participate in a Halloween Parade, which will leave from the back doors of the Edward W. Seay Administration Building at noon. OCTOBER 28Morristown - Historic Haunting. Listen to terrifying ghost stories and enjoy a variety of Halloween fun and games at the Historic Speedwell in Morristown. Millburn - Millburn Fire Department celebrates the 62nd Annual Halloween Parade from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Taylor Park. Walk in the parade route and have your costume judged. Trophies will be awarded. OCTOBER (Various Dates)The Historic Allaire Village, presents Halloween Hayrides, 2012 on Friday, October 19th, Saturday, October 20th, Friday, October 26th, and Saturday, October 27th, from 6:00 to 9:30 p.m. The Halloween Hayride starts in front of the General Store and enters the foreboding woods for a trip into Halloween horror. Hayrides are approximately twenty minutes in length and wagons leave every 15 minutes from the General Store. If you make it through the Hayride alive, take a stroll through our Haunted Village. Scary story-telling will be held in the Carriage House and special Halloween performances will be held in the Allaire Mansion. All are welcome?if you dare! Event dates are October 18-21, 25-28 and 31st from 7 p.m. to 12 a.m. Admission into the stadium is free. Experience three Haunted Attractions for $20; Hayrides for $5. Barnegat - Operation Halloween and Zombie Outbreak kick off on October 12 and 13. Operation Halloween offers something for all ages to enjoy this season, with scary and scare free zones. Four haunted attractions will be offered Friday October 12 from 3pm to Midnight and Saturday October 13 from 11am to Midnight at the Joseph A Citta Scout Camp 229 Brookville Road in Barnegat NJ. $10 admission ticket includes full access to the apocalyptic Zombie Outbreak, Ghost Manor Hayride and Mid Night Ghost Tour. The Jersey Shore Council BSA will be offering Pumpkin Street Safe Trick or Treat to all visitors free of charge.
