MASSAPEQUA - Police say a North Bellmore man who was arrested last night for trying to shoplift at a Walmart store had drugs, weapons and a gun on him.

Officials say 25-year-old Alexander Hollinsworth was trying to steal DVDs and CDs from the Massapequa Walmart at around 9 p.m. He was stopped by police, who say they found a loaded handgun, brass knuckles, a dagger-style knife and prescription pills on the suspect.

Police say the .38 caliber handgun had been reported stolen in New York City.

No one answered the door today at Hollinsworth's home on Washington Boulevard. Neighbors tell News 12 Long Island that he lives with his parents and has had some problems in the past.

Hollinsworth was arrested and is facing a slew of charges.
