Trenton police roll out new tip system as layoffs loom

Police in Trenton are attempting to make those who see something, say something. They've introduced a new tip system in preparation for the possible layoffs

TRENTON - Police in Trenton are attempting to make those who see something, say something. They've introduced a new tip system in preparation for the possible layoffs of 108 officers next month.

The new anonymous tip system lets witnesses get in touch via phone, text message, email or the police website.

News 12 New Jersey spoke with Trenton residents who say crimes occur frequently in Trenton where no one comes forward. Officials hope that the new system will help the police department get more cooperation from witnesses.
