Trenton Mayor-elect Eric Jackson prepares to take office July 1
TRENTON - Trenton Mayor-elect Eric Jackson says he's ready to hit the ground running when he takes over City Hall on July 1, but before his swearing in, he has to find out just what kind of mess he's dealing with.
On Tuesday, Jackson announced the names of local leaders who will serve on his transition team, including former Mayor Doug Palmer and two local legislators.
Over the next two weeks, they'll help him comb through the city's departments currently overseen by acting Mayor George Muschal.

"We already know where the light switches are, we already know where the closets are, so it really comes down to, let's get the work done for the plan we developed," Jackson says.
The mayor-elect says Muschal assured him that his staff will give him complete access to whatever information he needs.
Jackson says he has already met with state officials, but he's still working to schedule some time with Gov. Chris Christie.
