TRENTON - A Trenton couple says police were too slow to respond to their 911 call regarding an intruder in their home.

Dan Dodson says a man entered the vestibule of his home on Broad Street. As Dodson struggled with the man, his wife called 911 and told the dispatcher a stranger was trying to get inside their home. Dodson's wife was told to hang up and call a non-emergency number.

Dodson struggled with the man for about 10 minutes, eventually getting him to leave on his own. It then allegedly took another 10-15 minutes for officers to arrive. Dodson does not know if the man was armed.

Trenton police told the Times of Trenton that a review of the incident found the response was appropriate.
