Travelers head out across NJ for Memorial Day Weekend

WALL - With Memorial Day weekend finally here, some New Jersey residents say they plan on traveling plenty to take in the nice weather.

According to state officials, 8 million motorists are expected to hit the Garden State Parkway through Thursday. AAA officials say more than 800,000 New Jersey residents are expected to travel at least 50 miles from home over the weekend.

Even though the national gas average recently dropped 5 cents per gallon, some say the prices are still too high for extensive traveling.

AAA officials also say they expect to help about 9,000 stranded motorists this weekend.News 12 New Jersey Gas Gauge
