NEWARK - Passengers at Newark Liberty International Airport reported heavy delays Friday morning at security lines.

Dozens of passengers waited on a long line at Terminal C, and many told News 12 New Jersey they had already missed their flights.

United Airlines said in a tweet to customers that it was working with the Transportation Security Administration to address the longer-than-expected wait times at security checkpoints.

This is not the first time long security lines caused issued at the airport recently. On March 9, dozens of United Airlines flights were delayed after longer-than-average lines to get through security.

The TSA has not yet commented on a reason for the delays.
