TOMS RIVER - Neighbors only have heavy winds to contend with now that the predicted heavy precipitation ended up being far less severe.

With winds reaching gusts of 25 to 30 mph, many residents are hoping that the worst of the storm is already over.

Toms River Police Chief Michael Mastronardy says that even though winds have been the only legitimate concern, first responders are not letting their guard down in case the weather makes a turn for the worse.
