Timothy Puskas arrested in murder of Kean University student William McCaw near Rutgers campus

NEW BRUNSWICK - Police have announced an arrest in the beating death of a former Rutgers student found near the New Brunswick campus in February.

Middlesex County Acting Prosecutor Andrew Carey and New Brunswick Police Director Anthony Caputo say Timothy Puskas, 38, of New Brunswick, has been charged in the murder of William McCaw, 22.

McCaw, who had been attending Kean University, was found dead in the backyard of a home on Hartwell Street on Feb. 15. Investigators say he died of blunt force trauma.

Puskas was already in police custody for an unrelated charge in Milltown on March 21. He's being held at the Middlesex County Adult Corrections Center in North Brunswick on $5 million bail.
