Thousands of New Jersey residents are without power as a result of a storm that hit the state with high winds, heavy rains and snow.

EDISON - (AP) -- Thousands of New Jersey residents are without power as a result of a storm that hit the state with high winds, heavy rains and snow.

Jersey Central Power & Light reported about 4,400 outages, with the bulk occurring in Monmouth County where the utility serves about 280,000 customers.

PSE&G, the state's largest utility, is reporting less than 300 outages in central and northern New Jersey.

Atlantic City Electric is reporting about two dozen outages.
