Money raised from the event will benefit the network, a nonprofit organization responsible for the recovery of organs and tissue for New Jersey residents awaiting a transplant.

The organization says that 519 organ transplants occurred last year in New Jersey, but 5,000 state residents remain on the waiting list.

The New Jersey Sharing Network has already raised $700,000 as part of its fundraising effort. The charity says its goal is to hit $1 million.
