LONG BRANCH - Volunteers from Clean Ocean Action took to the Jersey Shore Saturday to clean beaches from Middlesex through Ocean counties.

Around 3,700 volunteers armed themselves with gloves, tally sheets and bags for recycling and trash as they conducted their 31st annual Beach Sweep.

The organization will tally the trash it collected, look at trends of what was found and find ways to stop litter or the sources of the trash.

Clean Ocean Action will host their next sweep in October.
