JERSEY CITY - A 16-year-old Jersey City boy who fell down a well at the old Jersey City Reservoir is back home recovering from his injuries.

Officials say that the boy and two of his friends allegedly were trespassing inside the building when the boy fell. He was apparently walking on a plank of plywood that covered the well when it broke free and he fell in.

The teen says that he was looking for his cellphone at the time, and when he fell, he had to hold onto a pipe and tread water until he was freed.

The boy was taken to the hospital to be treated for a broken nose.

Authorities have not said if any of the teens will face charges.
