Teaneck FD receives extrication lesson from expert

TEANECK - A couple of dozen Teaneck firefighters attended an extrication lesson from a Texas resident known as the guru of extrication.

Ron Moore, who is an expert at cutting victims out of car wrecks, laid out several scenarios for a car upright, on its side and laying on its roof. The demonstration allowed firefighters to practice stabilizing the vehicle and cutting any necessary power for safety.

Teaneck Fire Department's Captain Jordan Zaretsky says that while they can't approximate what it is like in the actual event, the demonstration allows them to practice in as safe an environment as they can get it.
