CHATHAM - Authorities have charged a high school science teacher for allegedly providing alcohol to a minor and allowing kids to drink at his home.
School officials say Frank Melchiorre, 26, of Chatham, has been suspended from Governor Livingston High School in Berkley Heights. In a letter sent to parents, the school said it is cooperating with the investigation.
The Morris County Prosecutor's Office says Melchiorre is charged with possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, providing alcohol to a person under the legal age, and making his residence available for the consumption of alcoholic beverages by minors.
Melchiorre is still under investigation, and the school has let parents know about the charges. In a letter to parents, the schools said it is cooperating with the investigation against Melchiorre.
