Tana Raymond sworn in as Garfield’s first female mayor
GARFIELD - Garfield has sworn in its first female mayor.
Mayor Tana Raymond took the oath of office today at City Hall.
Raymond's running mate, former Mayor Joseph Delaney, had promised in 2012 that he would have her complete the second half of the term if they won.

"He's the only mayor that's lived up to his word. It's promised in the past, but it’s never happened - they always rebuffed at the end,” said Mayor Raymond. “So I have the greatest respect for him and it's the great day for Garfield.”
Raymond is a certified nurse, volunteers at local churches and has held positions in various citizen task forces.
