Swastikas spray-painted in Monmouth Heights

MONMOUTH HEIGHTS - Residents in Monmouth Heights are deeply shaken after waking up to messages of hate scrawled all over their neighborhood.

Overnight, someone spray-painted swastikas and anti-Semitic messages of hate on sidewalks, utility boxes, street signs, mailboxes and fences surrounding private homes.

Detectives with both the Manalapan Police Department and the Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office are investigating the incident.

Public works crews have been hard at work all day removing the graffiti.

The New Jersey chapter of the Anti-Defamation League released a statement today, condemning the swastika graffiti spree.
