Sussex Co. teacher wins NJ Teacher of the Year award

HOPATCONG - An elementary school teacher has been given the most coveted award for teachers in New Jersey.

Danielle Kovach, a teacher at Tulsa Trails Elementary School, has been selected as the 2010-2011 New Jersey Teacher of the Year. Kovach was automatically in the running after being chosen as Sussex County Teacher of the Year.

Each county selects a teacher to represent them for the state award. Kovach says she will go on a six-month sabbatical to act as a teacher ambassador and visit schools throughout the state.
