Study: Rutgers sports cost each student $1K a year in fees

NEW BRUNSWICK - A recent Bloomberg News study found that Rutgers athletic teams cost each undergraduate student nearly $1,000 in fees and university funding.

Rutgers spent approximately $28.5 million from the university budget and student fees into sports, the most among other schools in the same category, based on data in the Bloomberg report.

The study looked at costs for athletic programs in 54 public universities in the largest football conference.
