JACKSON - Many parents in Jackson are breathing a collective sigh of relief after their children were unharmed in an afternoon school bus crash.

Authorities say a bus carrying students from Goetz Middle School and another car were involved in a crash just before 3 p.m. near 416 Diamond Road in Jackson.

Witnesses told News 12 New Jersey that the school bus driver was letting students off the bus when a woman driving a minivan slammed into the back of the bus.

According to the school district, the children were evaluated on the scene and none were injured.

The district added that the students were safely transferred to another bus and were taken home.

Police say a 24-year-old female passenger inside the minivan had to be cut out of the wreckage.
