Students help raise funds after Hoboken Charter School blaze

HOBOKEN - Students are pitching in to help raise funds for the Hoboken Charter School after a fire ripped through the building earlier this month.

Students organized a bake sale yesterday to help pay for new desks and computers.

Classes were canceled this week, while administrators look for a new space for the roughly 200 kindergarten through eighth-grade students.

Seven firefighters were injured and about 200 students had to be evacuated when a three-alarm fire erupted at the school last Thursday morning. Roughly 100 students at a nearby school were also evacuated as a precaution.
