FREEHOLD BOROUGH - Less than 100 customers are still without power in Freehold Borough after Saturday's storm while a state of emergency remains in effect as residents and crews try to dig their way out of the mess left in its wake.

Residents say the storm lasted between three and four minutes, but left a considerable amount of damage behind. The strong winds knocked down billboards and trees, with one tree landing on a home on Monmouth Avenue. The homeowner says he and his family feel blessed that no one was hurt.

Detours and road closures are making it difficult for residents to get through the town. Officials say a curfew from dusk to dawn is being observed until all power is restored. To watch extended footage from Freehold, click on iO Extra on Channel 612.
