ELMWOOD PARK - Monday's storm left a trail of damage in Elmwood Park.

Strong winds and rain left residents on 53rd Street without power at around 2:30 p.m. One house in particular at 119 18th Ave. suffered significant damage.

Lou Vuoncino says he was inside when the top of an 80-foot tree came crashing down on his house. In addition to a broken fence, Vuoncino found four holes punched in the roof.

The homeowner says the damage could have been much worse with the strength of the wind that whipped through the community.
