Stores hit with after-Christmas shopping rush

EDISON - Shoppers around New Jersey headed out for one of the biggest shopping days of the year today.

Many shoppers hit stores to return Christmas gifts and spend newly received gift cards.

The National Retail Federation believes the Thanksgiving-to-Christmas stretch generated just under $470 billion in sales across the country.

The group says today kicks off another shopping rush that extends into January.
