'Stiffed' Bridgewater waitress Dayna Morales let go from Gallop Asian Bistro

Neither Morales nor the restaurant are acknowledging that the story was fake. (12/8/13)

BRIDGEWATER - A waitress at the Gallop Asian Bistro in Bridgewater who claimed a customer didn't tip her because of her apparent lifestyle is now out of a job.

Dayna Morales has been let go from the restaurant following an incident in which she said a customer did not give her a tip due to her sexual preference. She says that in the space where the tip should be included, there was a note that said, "I'm sorry, but I cannot tip because I don't agree with your lifestyle and how you live your life."

A couple who claimed to be Morales’ customers sent an anonymous email to News 12 New Jersey recently, disputing her story and showing through credit card records that they did in fact tip her $18 on their $93.55 bill. Neither the waitress nor the restaurant are acknowledging that the story was fake.

The restaurant posted a statement on its Facebook page, saying, "Both Ms. Morales and Gallop Asian Bistro have made a joint decision that Ms. Morales will no longer continue her employment at our restaurant."

Morales is reportedly giving back the thousands of dollars she received in donations after the couples’ claim was made public.
