Stiff competition for sweet jobs

BRIDGEWATER - The new Cheesecake Factory at Bridgewater Commons seems to have caught the eye of the Garden State's unemployed.

NJ's current unemployment rate is just below 10 percent. The new restaurant has 260 jobs to fill, and over 2,000 people applied to fill those spots.

Althea Rowe, the Senior Director of Restaurant Marketing for the Cheesecake Factory says they were overwhelmed by the amount of applications.

Jobs at the Cheesecake Factory are considered to be some of the best in the restaurant industry. If you work at least 30 hours a week, there are paid vacations and medical benefits.

The Cheesecake Factory at Bridgewater Commons opens to the public on Monday.
