HOBOKEN - Students at Stevens Institute are working toward perfecting sustainable living by building an energy-efficient home.

About 60 students have been participating in the two-year project as part of an eco-habit solar decathlon.

They're building a home along the Hudson River in Hoboken and have created a brand new energy-efficient HVAC and plumbing system.

"We took all the issues that face sustainable living and came up with design solutions for them", says chemical engineering major Claire Griffin.

Judging will take place in October in California.
