EDISON - The New Jersey Attorney General's Office has announced a statewide taskforce to investigate claims of fraud against Sandy victims.
The Statewide Sandy Fraud Working Group will also investigate fraud regarding home repair work. Residents say they've seen a lot of fraud already, including price gouging.
Joanne Condron, of Toms River, says she had to go outside the area to get a decent price on home repairs.
Jamie Blake, a West Long Branch resident, is in need of a new roof for his home, but has had a hard time finding a contractor that didn't charge too much.
"We had people who came in and wanted double, triple, quadruple what you would find you actually have to pay," Blake said.
The taskforce has already compiled more than 2,000 Sandy-related complaints and it expects that number to grow.
